Cub Scouting
Adventure, Growth & Family Fun For Boys & Girls in Grades K–5 | A Family-Led, Volunteer-Driven Program

What is Cub Scouts?
Cub Scouts is an adventure-filled program for boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade (approximately ages 5–10). It’s where fun, friendship, and discovery come together to help kids grow in confidence, character, and curiosity.
Unlike many youth programs, Cub Scouts is designed for the whole family. Parents, guardians, and caregivers take an active role, helping with leading activities, cheering on achievements, and sharing in unforgettable moments together.
The program is entirely volunteer-driven, with leaders who are parents and community members passionate about giving kids positive, hands-on experiences.
At its heart, Cub Scouting is about learning by doing & trying new things, exploring the outdoors, working as a team, and overcoming challenges in a fun and supportive environment. Every meeting, event, and “adventure” helps children build skills that last a lifetime.
Adventures & Activities: What Kids Will Do
In Cub Scouts, children complete Adventures that are tailored to their grade level. Finishing required and elective Adventures is how they earn their rank.
Examples of fun, hands-on activities include:
- Camping, hiking, nature exploration and outdoor skills
- STEM experiments, rocket launches, kite flying and engineering challenges
- Community service and neighborhood projects (e.g. cleanups, food drives, letters of thanks)
- Crafting, games, skits, songs, stunts, storytelling
Scouts progress through ranks (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, Arrow of Light) depending on grade, completing age-appropriate Adventures along the way.
Character Development
Scouts learn responsibility, problem solving, teamwork, and goal setting through progressing in rank and completing “Adventures.”
Citizenship
Scouts engage in service and support in their neighborhoods and develop a sense of civic responsibility.
Personal Fitness
The experiences are designed to be fun, challenging, and memorable, combining games, outdoor time, learning, and excitement.
Leadership
Through advancement and badges, Scouts gain confidence and pride in what they accomplish.
